Statistics through Sports Application

This course provides students with the fundamental concepts of statistical analysis and probability through looking at sports data and application. Topics will include descriptive statistical concepts and methods, inferential statistical concepts and methods, probability, and probability distributions.

  • Analyzing One-Variable Statistics:  Given data distributions, analyze using appropriate numerical techniques and construct informative graphs.
  • Analyzing Symmetric Data:  Analyze a given scenario by applying the characteristics of a normal distribution.
  • Applications of Probability:  Given a scenario, apply the rules of probability to assess expected values and model chance behavior.
