Spanish 3

This course will allow students to review concepts previously mastered and learn new, more sophisticated grammatical structures and vocabulary. Students will also be involved with an in-depth study of the geography, history and culture of Spain and/or Latin America. Language proficiency will be emphasized and writing skills will continue to be developed. Material in level three language courses include relative pronouns, past participle, pronouns, irregular commands, present subjunctive, present perfect, adjectives & demonstrative pronouns, future, conditional, simple past.

  2. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the following pronouns: direct, indirect, possessive, and reflexive, including with the use of gustar like verbs
  3. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the imperative.
  4. Students will demonstrate an understanding of how to form and how to use the subjunctive.
  5. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the perfect tenses.
  6. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the future and conditional tenses.

  • COMPREHENSION: Given a variety of assignments appropriate to the level being studied, the student demonstrates an understanding of the language, including thematic vocabulary, written passages, auditory input, and cultural relationships.

Through their own creation of language, students demonstrate that they can utilize the vocabulary, grammatical structures, and culture being studied to successfully participate in class activities and complete out of class assignments.
